Popsicles!

Popsicles. Summertime treat. Sore throat remedy. Whatever the use, i'm sure most of you would agree that this frozen treat is sensational!

I just re-discovered the wonder of popsicles today. They are so simple, and often times when you want a frozen treat, you reach out for the drum stick or the dippin' dots or some other novelty. But when you have a sore throat (like I did) popsicles sounds mighty tasty and not to mention soothing. And it was. :)

I went online and searched up some interesting facts about the popsicle.

In 1905, an eleven-year-old named Frank Epperson accidentily discovered the first popsicle. Frank left his fruit flavored soda drink outside on his porch, with a stirring stick in it. That night, the temperatures reached a record low, and when Frank woke up and went onto his porch, he found his drink frozen on the stick, creating a fruity tasting icicle. He called it the 'epsicle.' And he waited eighteen years before he released it to the public.

The early popsicle was available in six different flavors. Today, there are thirty different flavors for the popsicle.
